Day 1: Tour Starts in Algiers
Day 1: The tour starts in the capital this afternoon where we'll take an orientation walking tour of the city.
Day 2: Algiers - Djemila - Constantine
Day 2: After breakfast we'll drive east to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Djemila to visit one of the best preserved ancient Roman cities in North Africa. From here we drive to Constantine for the night.
Day 3: Constantine - Algiers
Day 3: The 'City of Bridges' is an architectural triumph and we take the opportunity to wander around the old town and see the casbah and market along with the Palace of Ahmed Bey. Late this afternoon we'll take a flight back to the capital.
Days 4-5: Algiers - Timimoun
Day 4: After our morning flight toTimimoun we'll transfer to our hotel and then visit the old Ksar, the palmeraie and the surrounding dunes of the Grand Erg Occidental. Day 5: A morning to explore the area around Timimoun, visiting the red caves and Tindjillet, before a relaxing afternoon back in the red desert town.
Day : Days 6: Timimoun - Beni Abbes - Taghit
Day : We head to the 'Pearl of Saoura' or the 'White Oasis' town of Beni Abbes to further explore the wilderness and beauty of the Sahara Desert, before driving to Taghit for the night.
Days 7-8: Taghit - Bechar - Oran
Day 7: We'll spend this morning exploring the beautiful oasis town of Taghit and the surrounding desert dunes, before driving to Bechar for our late afternoon flight to Oran. Day 8: A full day in Algeria's second city of Oran, visiting key sites such as La Cathedrale du Sacre Coeur and Santa Cruz fort.
Days 9-11: Oran - Tipaza - Algiers
Day 9: This morning we'll take the train from Oran east towards the capital Algiers, stopping off en route to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tipaza on the Mediterranean coast. Day 10: Today we'll enjoy a tour of the old city focussing upon the traditional casbah.There'll then be some free time before a farewell dinner in the evening. Day 11: The tour ends this morning after breakfast.
